Position Details:

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Customer Information Management team. This team builds systems to capture and organize data about Grainger's customers. Customer Information is used across Grainger to serve customers and promote growth.

You will work with engineering, user experience design and stakeholders to design and launch new tools that allow multiple teams to use customer information in their operational processes. You will be creative, work in a matrix organization and combine a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love. You will be customer-focused, with experience creating successful products. You will report to the Sr. Product Manager.

 

 

You Will:

  • Translate user needs and high-level product ideas into detailed product requirements for the software development and QA teams
  • Resolve issues for assigned product area that may impair the team's ability to meet goals
  • Build internal relationships to promote implementation and goals
  • Work with engineering and UX design to determine solutions for users
  • Work with stakeholders to align on priorities and communicate progress
  • Achieve a schedule of releases
  • Contribute to the design of the product roadmap
  • Provide active support post-launch to users to refine software to improve usability
  • Track planned activities for each product release with consideration of schedule, risk management, escalation of issues and balances tradeoffs.

 

 

 

You Have:

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering, science, math, design, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in product management or related occupation. The experience must include: conducting strategic and financial analysis, working with engineering, design, and project management counterparts to provide digital products or services.
  • Experience designing complex solutions to create advantaged software
  • Experience managing products through entire life cycle – from creation to launch
  • Process design skills and operational orientation
  • Continuous improvement mindset that results in the understanding of new technologies
