The eCommerce Engineering Manager helps lead and define the best software engineering practices in development projects. They are also responsible for leading and directing select sprint teams in the end to end execution of project work. We are looking for a leader who encourages teamwork, communicates effectively with senior leadership, and has a clear vision of what determines a successful solution for the work effort and our company. You will help provide guidance at all stages of the development life cycle and bring best quality applications. Having a technical background to anticipate and make accurate technology decisions. You take active leadership in decision-making. You will report to the Sr. Manager eCommerce Engineering. 


You Will:


  • Lead and manage Software Engineers ensuring they understand their roles and accept their responsibilities
  • Actively support team members in establishing personal development plans and organize individual career growth
  • Collaborate closely with Product Team and our teams to understand project requirements, Solution and develop execution strategy.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to improve the overall eCommerce software development lifecycle.
  • Mentor and Coach Software Engineers in their own personal development.  This could be through short courses, conferences, meetups, and certifications.
  • Ensure that Software Engineers are following best practices and development standards in their daily work.
  • Monitor all the Development activities, quality, deployment and customer satisfaction.  Identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.
  • Manage, track and communicate metrics to monitor team effectiveness and quality.
  • Be an escalation point for all matters related to work your team is engaged with. Removing blockers, solving solution issues, and external dependancies.


You Have:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10 years experience in eCommerce Engineering.
  • Management or informal leader experience with onshore and offshore teams desired.
  • Experience with DevOps development practices, contributing to continuous integration and risk mitigation.
  • Experience managing multiple sprint teams
  • Past eCommerce development experience with 1 or more technologies/frameworks (<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Java, J2EE, Ruby on Rails, RDBS, NoSQL, Lucene, SOLR, AWS)
  • Implemented development best practices to increase quality and throughput from teams.
  • Experience promoting collaboration to guide strategy and organizational design discussions for continuous improvement.
