You Will:

 

Leads team to design customer information including:

  • Develop frameworks, methodology and processes to set up and supplement new customer information
  • Curate and develop customer information to ensure accuracy, promote  multiple marketing and analytical activities and continuously improve the processes to do so
  • Design customer information– which elements matter most for which type of customers, which elements of data are gatherable, what frameworks will we use to define customer attributes
  • Provide customer information requirements to digital and technical teams to develop a Customer Information Management system
  • curate and supplement customer information for all of Grainger. Test and understand accuracy of important elements of customer information in present and future-state. Share insights with partners throughout the organization
  • Set up and continuously improve processes to add business customers and useful information to Grainger's customer master. Determine the most accurate and efficient ways to gather different parts of information. Partner with customer information operations team to do so.
  • Develop process and approach to identify, evaluate and collect useful industry segments information that can be used to drive growth. 
  • Hire, develop and lead team members for customer information design and industry segment research
  • Reports to Sr. Dir, Cust Info Design & Operations

 

 

You Have:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in economics, mathematics, statistics or equivalent subject preferred; graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years experience in leading teams and conducting research on customers
  • Comfortable with large data sets and analytical tools, such as SAS, SQL, R, etc.
  • Familiar with master data management and information modeling/design
  • Strong business judgment and ability to think through and solve complex problems
  • Strong process-oriented thinking important to design customer information models
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to get to the right answer at a reasonable level of precision ("80/20" rule)
  • Work  cross-functionally for design and execution of large scale  initiatives
  • Translate complex issues into understandable terms for stakeholders and decision makers across the organization; will need to summarize and update senior leadership with key findings
