Position Details:

This Product Information (PI) Business Analyst will help improve processes, measurements and outcomes across all product information workflows. You will help perform current state discovery, process optimization and change management as part of the PI process team.

The PI Process team owns the continuous improvements of the three core workflows in PI: Category Review, New Product Introduction and Error Correction Maintenance. You will support the PI Process team in developing solutions that translate operating metrics into important insights that inform strategies, decisions and recommendations.

Considered the subject matter expert to implement a clear operational strategy for the business, ensuring it evolves over time to reflect the changing needs of the business, PI Partners, and technology partners. This Business Analyst will ensure our process work follows project plans, follows clear timelines and meets established PI goals, but will have the agility to respond to organizational needs in real time.

You will report to the Manager, Product Information Process.


You Will:

  • Perform process improvement activities across all PI workflows including discovery, brainstorming, communications and optimization
  • Collaborate with PI Process team and PI leaders to understand challenges
  • Create process solutions and participate in meetings with partner groups
  • Understand and support the PI metrics
  • Identify opportunities to reduce PI errors through root cause discovery, clear metrics and lean-style "poka yoke" process build
  • Document processes, project plans and process improvements with consistency
  • Collaboration with Merchandising, Supplier Management, Supply Chain, GTG (Grainger Technology Group) and other teams


You Have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in business analysis, business administration or related field


  • 1+ years of experience across process optimization including process assessment, process build and process change management
  • Broad analytics and metrics experience, Microsoft PowerBI experience a plus
  • Business-to-business distribution or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Technology experience in Product Information Management and other Product Content related systems preferred
  • Background in business process discovery
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office functionality, especially Excel (Macros, VBA, Pivot Tables, Lookups), Visio and PowerPoint
  • The ability to influence decision-making processes without having specific authority
  • Meeting management and project management skills
