We are searching for a Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Imperial Supplies! The Transportation Coordinator serves as a key liaison between customers and carriers, ensuring on-time, efficient, and cost-effective delivery performance. This role focuses on resolving delivery challenges, optimizing transportation services, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and external freight partners to streamline shipping operations and uphold Imperial’s commitment to reliability and service excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external freight carriers to resolve basic to moderately complex delivery issues and customer concerns.
  • Provide accurate freight estimates to sales teams to support customer proposals and orders.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan, organize, and execute large-scale customer freight projects.
  • Work with distribution leadership to ensure carrier pickup and delivery compliance across all locations.
  • Respond promptly to internal transportation requests, ensuring thorough follow-up with internal teams and freight carriers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inbound and outbound shipping issues to provide best-in-class service to both internal and external customers.
  • Partner with the Customer Service Team to address Voice of Customer (VOC) submissions and identify opportunities to optimize carrier performance.
  • Track, update, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Support additional supply chain or training initiatives and contribute to department reporting as requested.

 

What You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical school graduate, Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Transportation, Supply Chain, or related Operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, freight forwarding, or distribution operations.
  • Experience collaborating with carriers and internal logistics teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with logistics metrics, carrier management, and freight cost optimization.
