Position Details:

Do you enjoy conducting customer research to enhance data and find competitive insights? Would you welcome the challenge to democratize those insights by standardizing current operational processes? 

 

Grainger, a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, is looking for a Customer Information Researcher I to help us use standardized research processes to enhance and deepen our understanding of our customer segments. 

 

In this impactful role, you will work with Customer Information Researchers, Process Engineers, Technology Developers, and Business Leaders to eliminate process waste, improve activities, automate routine work, and scale research. 

 

By making applicable customer information available, you will directly help the Grainger market, sell, and provide the best products and solutions to meet the needs of our more than 4.5 million customers worldwide. 

 

You Will: 

  • Curate and supplement customer information company-wide by implementing standardized processes ( through online research) with an emphasis on identifying qualified prospects and segmenting Grainger's current customers 

  • Improve the development and continuous improvement of standard research processes 

  • Contribute to quantitative analysis (with support) and write SQL to enable/conduct exploratory data analysis 

  • Present and share work with peers 

  • Cultivate genuine curiosity and develop an understanding of the US Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) market – what customers exist in which industries, and how attractive they are to Grainger 

You Have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required 

  • Degree in STEM 

  • About 1 years post-undergraduate experience 

Skills 

  • Statistics, basic data visualization and analysis skills: Excel/Tableau/PowerBI required, SQL and R/Python 

  • Desire to develop additional technical and quantitative skills 

  • Clear written and visual communication 

  • Ability to conduct thorough online research
