To support our plans for expansion in 2019 and beyond we are searching for an e-Commerce Marketplace Manager.  This position will work out of our facility located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Our office is accessible via public transportation (Metra/Pace from Chicago to Antioch).

 

Zoro’s presence on Marketplaces has expanded in the past four years from one experimental storefront on Ebay to having top-rated stores on several online Marketplaces with over 350,000 items each.  The e-Commerce Marketplace Manager will be responsible for growing and maintaining several Marketplaces.

We are looking for a highly motivated change agent who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, build and maintain vendor relationships, manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver that will turn any challenge into an opportunity and is comfortable working with several moving pieces at once. This individual should also be adaptable to new technology and can think holistically to update our business workflows for our internal teams, especially IT, Customer Service and Product.

This person will drive revenues for one of our biggest marketplace channels by:

  • Communicating Zoro’s priorities and goals for the channel, internally and externally, and executing those goals successfully
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to create and maintain positive customer experiences on one of Zoro’s largest channels
  • Creating, revising, improving, and effecting current and new workflows that comply with the channel’s business process rules and streamline the transaction cycle without compromising the quality of customer experience
  • Working directly with the channel’s representatives and business units to expand Zoro’s presence, maintain functionality, and increase strategic opportunity
  • Owning the customer experience for customers converting through the channel
  • Implementing SKU expansion campaigns
  • Producing weekly and monthly reports on company financial performance and key performance indicators
  • Identifying key trends, issues and root causes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Preparing and delivering presentations to different audiences, and performing ad-hoc analysis as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a business-related field
  • 3-5 years of work experience required in merchandising, product, marketing, or operations, preferably in an e-Commerce or retail environment
  • 1 year of experience in managing vendor relationships required
  • 1 year of experience in managing cross-functional projects required
  • 1 year of experience in managing business processes required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong spreadsheet modeling (Excel pivot tables and vlookup) and PowerPoint presentation creation skills
  • Experience buying and/or selling on various channels as an individual or for a company is strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of statistics and testing methods
  • Basic understanding of margin setting for promotions
  • Experience using digital & web analytics and project management software a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred or using SPSS, Oracle, and other query tools on large databases
