Zoro is seeking a Senior Manager IT – Analytics to join the Information Technology team with the mission to transform data into business actions.  A critical part of that mission is to manage data as a company asset.  As Senior Manager Development – Business Analytics, you’ll work with business clients to analyze their data and put the data into a story of how they move forward with their strategy. This role is highly technical and analytical but customer centric as well. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Analysts to execute internal and external projects.
  • Act as the subject matter expert across many analytics related disciplines, including web analytics, multi-channel attribution, data management, data visualization platforms, tag management, solution design.  Develop new programs and solutions to continually advance our capabilities.
  • Develop and manage various vendor relationships.
  • Effectively manage business clients.  Ensure a high level of quality and satisfaction in delivered services.
  • Work with database tools or scripting languages to process, report on, and draw business and marketing insights from a variety of datasets. 
  • Develop and perform quality checks for both ad hoc and ongoing processes.  Monitor and maintain these automated processes.
  • Proactively investigate traffic, conversion, and performance trends using customer transaction and web analytics data.
  • Create compelling summaries and visualizations of datasets using available tools.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
  • Create and work with statistical models.  Analyze statistical significance of performance measures and validity of predictive models.
  • Establish monitors and alerts for proactive monitoring of data and marketing performance changes.
  • Manage and consult on website tag implementations, including expert usage of the Google Tag Manager platform.
  • Research best practices in data analysis, reporting, data visualization, and statistical analysis; incorporate them into everyday work, and share with the wider business teams.
  • Adopt industry best practices for data management.
  • Work with clients on their strategy and initiatives bringing in the analytics to help devise go forward strategy.
  • Produce high-quality reports.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ development experience with Python and SQL.
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing a team of developers and/or analysts.
  • Ability to query using SQL, Python, or R.
  • Ability to stay abreast of emerging technology and methods for marketing applications, data management and analytics.
  • Experience in data management and analytic methods are a must.
  • Excellent understanding of the business complexity and project interdependencies.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products.
  • Ability to partner with software engineers and quality analysts to identify course of resolutions.
  • Strong understanding of basic system engineering, object-oriented design, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards.
  • In-depth understanding of the various software development lifecycles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Understanding of modeling techniques, such as unified modeling language, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, management information systems, economics, or degree and similar work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of developers and analysts through the software and analytical development lifecycles.
  • Project management experience preferred.
