Position Description

Pricing Analysts make Zoro run by making sure all of our products are optimally priced for market relevance and profitability. Pricing Analysts have the day to day responsibility of ensuring Zoro Prices are in-line with internally established pricing strategies and tactics. Additionally, Pricing analysts perform in-depth analysis of the competitive landscape in order to optimize revenue, improve profitability, design tests, and recommend new pricing tactics.

 

Pricing Analysts are expected to work collaboratively across Zoro departments including Analytics, IT, Marketing, and many others. As a core functionality of Zoro’s business, pricing helps drive the success of multiple projects and initiatives. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to understand business objectives and anticipate how pricing can be used to achieve Zoro’s mission.

 

Working from our downtown Chicago location will also be considered for this role.

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar field is a plus
  • 1-4+ years’ experience in Pricing, Strategy, Business Consulting, Ecommerce, Analytics or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel, R, and BI tools is a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working across business functions, i.e. Merchandising, Finance, Marketing and Customer Service
  • Experience developing financial analysis & scenario building using multiple large data sets and the ability to implement changes based upon this analysis
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of business strategies, and  the expected effects of the common pricing strategies and tactics upon the business
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills including the ability to work within the limitations of resources and data at hand
  • Entry level candidates may be considered for this position
