Project Manager


The Project Manager will work closely with the Sr. Manager Project Management and business project owners at Zoro. The role is responsible for the overall planning, management, and completion of assigned technical and non-technical projects. Must be familiar with SDLC and Agile methods, be able to execute under pressure, think outside of the box and adapt to frequently changing environment and priorities. The Project Manager is a collaborative professional who relies on their ability to successfully lead a team without direct authority. Ultimately, the project manager is responsible for the successful delivery of large to enterprise scale projects by ensuring the proper execution of the activities and tasks as prescribed by industry standard Project Management methods.


The Project Manager will work with internal customers, vendors, and partners to define project scope and work plans. He/she will use innovative project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, and ensure the quality of projects. Additionally, the Project Manager will be required to continually be strategic and innovative in identifying business, systems and operational efficiency opportunities. Lastly, the Project Manager will assume a leadership role ensuring effective project execution, thorough and timely communication and fostering strong cross-functional team relationships.



  • Provides overall leadership of project team on a given project. Acts as front-line contact with the project sponsor(s) on project related activities, issues, and risks.
  • Ability to identify business needs & innovations that support overall the company strategy.
  • Contributes to the determination of project scope, resource requirements, skill requirements, project milestones and risks per standard methods and practices.
  • Monitors and documents project status; anticipates problems and resolves them or escalates them to the appropriate level of management to ensure proper project completion within schedule and budget constraints
  • Collaborates and crafts appropriate delivery approach based on project type.
  • Coordinates formation and disbandment of project team.
  • Identifies and removes barriers that may impede successful completion of project.
  • Manages communications amongst team members, functional departments, business sponsor, and the supporting project office.
  • Coordinates project closeout and transfer of ownership activities for project deliverables upon formal acceptance by project sponsor.



  • Strong knowledge and experience of project management concepts and procedures.  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a variety of strategic and tactical projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies with ability to customize and tailor the approach for project delivery.
  • Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive team member who can effectively work with the leadership team and who is able to communicate concepts to a broad range of business and technical staff.
  • Must be very detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to enable the effective management of supplier contracts and audit compliance projects.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure.
  • Must be able to effectively manage change.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members.
  • Proficient with version control and change management processes, policies, and principles.
  • Exceptional writing proficiency and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop, lead, motivate and supervise working teams.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management or Management Information Systems is required. Master’s degree would be a plus..
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience managing the implementation and support of key business initiatives, marketing or eCommerce projects.
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Agile certification is a plus – CSM or CSPO
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Desktop Software – Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Reasonable knowledge of current hardware and software technologies and uses.
