Primary Function

The Finance Analytics & Reporting function designs, develops and supports dashboard, analytic and reporting solutions. This role develops and maintains the strategic vision and operational road map for Finance/Business intelligence, identifying new opportunities and prioritizing incoming project requests based on strategic goals, business unit needs, resource availability, and overall cost and benefits to the company.



Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create/maintain a high performing team that has the right skills and expertise
  • Ensure overall team engagement and motivation stays high
  • Provide thought leadership & strategic thinking to create long-term strategies for achieving business goals through insights derived from scaleable, repeatable reporting and the ability for analysts to obtain required data to drive business & financial insights
  • Leverages in-depth knowledge of industry best practices and technical expertise to develop and execute the strategic vision for business intelligence, guiding and empowering the team to develop creative and innovative ways to efficiently and effectively answer business questions
  • Develops highly effective, collaborative relationships with business leaders, identifying opportunities to leverage business intelligence projects to increase operational knowledge, improve data access efficiency and enable rapid decision making.
  • Responsible for the creation, standardization and delivery of operational reporting around the financial health and profitability of our business i.e. Customer profitability model. 
  • Designs & delivers reporting solutions to translate operating metrics into insights that inform strategies, business decisions and recommendations.
  • Considered the Subject-matter-expert to establish, communicate and execute a clear reporting and financial data strategy for the business, ensuring it evolves over time to reflect the changing needs of the business.
  • Partners with Finance, Accounting, Executive Leadership and Enterprise Solutions to rationalize BI solutions for internal use.   


Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working with enterprise data warehouse systems (e.g. Teradata, SQL)
  • Minimum of 5 years with emerging reporting tools and technologies (e.g. Tableau, BusinessObjects).
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor others; ability to lead a team to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment, and the ability to balance and prioritize work on multiple projects.
  • Strong competency in relevant financial skills such as P&L analysis along with other various decision-making financial analysis tools.
  • Broad business knowledge and organizational awareness as well as an understanding of business profitability drivers.
  • Proven analytic and quantitative decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with senior team members.
  • The ability to influence decision-making processes without having specific authority.
