BASIC FUNCTION: 

  • Performance/Process Manager I's are responsible for the delivery of Grainger’s ES organizations process improvement  and strategic change initiatives.  They work with cross-functional IT teams to design, develop and integrate ES procedures utilizing best practices and industry standard frameworks.  The Performance/Process Managers lead the design of Grainger’s ES organization’s overall process structure, including creating a process hierarchy that streamlines ES processes and eliminate redundancy.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies and may lead low to moderate complexity performance improvement initiatives with stakeholders, focused on creating opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Works with Technical Administrator and Engineers to integrate processes and procedures utilizing best practices and framework.
  • Performs detailed analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Reengineers low to moderate complexity processes or creates new processes for improvement.
  • Assists in developing well defined processes policies and procedures with clearly documented accountability to increase efficiency of processes.
  • Assist in defining current/future state process structure and creates RACI charts.
  • Maintains weekly/monthly status reports to key stakeholders tracking the status of the improvement project.
  • Designs, monitors, analyzes and reports on performance metrics program for improvement initiatives and communications with Senior ES Performance/Process Managers.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:  

  • Strong background in process management, information aggregation, process rollout and operational change management across large teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in process governance and in continuous process improvement.
  • Proven leadership ability that manifests itself in quickly earning sponsorship and key stakeholder trust; mobilizing and motivating teams; setting direction and approach; resolving conflict; delivering tough messages with grace; ability to influence higher levels in the organization; executing with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Must have a proactive, results oriented attitude, leads by the example of serving others, with a superb work ethic and flexibility to work within an environment of constant change.
  • Ability to identify issues and risks across many teams, proposing solutions and understanding when to escalate to leadership.
