Position Description

Responsible for planning, organizing, and accurately executing all aspects of the payroll function. This includes, but is not limited to, administrative duties involving the development and maintenance of the payroll system, internal control records, payroll tax, garnishments and day-to-day processing operations and as needed. Provides exceptional quality and delivery of timely and accurate payroll results for an excess of 16K employees.

  • Ensure accuracy of Payroll, tax, garnishment and benefit deductions
  • Prepares off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as necessary
  • Balance daily tax invoices and arrange funding to ADP; address and resolve tax notices
  • Perform quarterly and year end balancing of tax data to ensure accuracy
  • Manage year end processes and tax filings
  • Coordinate tax rates/tax code/ set up in payroll system
  • Manage wage garnishments processed by ADP
  • Calculate and process compensation continuation payments
  • Reconcile and audit third party inbound/outbound payroll files
  • Prepare and maintain SOX key controls related to Payroll
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll processes and recommend changes leading to best-practice operations; update and document processes
  • Provide analysis and reporting support for internal/external business partners
  • Assist with payroll related projects as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of multi-state US payroll laws and practices required
  • Knowledge of Canadian Payroll regulations is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work effectively with others in a wide variety of circumstances
  • Quickly and easily adapt to change and shifting priorities with enthusiasm
  • Strong communication proficiencies required to interact with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Superior time-management skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Detail oriented, exhibiting strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to achieve goals
  • Proficiency using multiple PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge using SAP , ADP, and Kronos T&A is a plus  
  • Ability to exercise discretion with highly confidential information
  • Ability to work individually with no supervision
  • Limited travel is required
  • Position requires the ability to sit at a desk the majority of the time.
