Director, Global Capital Planning

Reporting to the Vice President & Treasurer, the Director of Capital Planning is a highly visible, rotational corporate finance role with responsibility for leading development and execution of the Company’s capital plans, driving cash generation across each of the Company’s businesses and optimizing the Company’s capital investment process to maximize ROI and drive value creation. 


The Director of Global Capital Planning will develop and lead a robust process to govern capital investment. Specifically, this individual will work closely with key finance partners and business leaders to generate new economically attractive capital investment opportunities, assess proposed capital investment projects, monitor ongoing capital investment and assess capital investment returns. This position will lead benchmarking and measurement of capital investment performance, as well as internal and external reporting around capital investment.



  • Develop and execute capital plans for all major businesses, including Cromwell, AGI, Fabory, the U.S. businesses and, in an advisory capacity, MonotaRO.
  • Work across finance and business leadership to develop opportunities for incremental cash generation for each business, develop appropriate working capital and cash conversion cycle metrics and drive cash flow performance.
  • Develop and lead a direct cash flow forecast for the Company, working closely with broader treasury and finance teams to ensure real-time visibility to cash flow and accountability for each category of cash receipt and disbursements. 
  • Develop and lead robust process to govern capital investment, including assessing proposed projects, monitoring ongoing investment and assessing investment returns.
  • Work with finance and business partners to ensure that the Company has a pipeline of economically attractive capital investments, inventory investments, and investment-related operating expense that can compete for funding.



  • Bachelor’s degree & 7-10 years+ of similar relevant experience required.
  • A post-graduate degree (MBA, accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, or statistics preferred) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Able to synthesize complex issues, form initial hypotheses, and identify the data required to confirm hypotheses.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships and work with others to accomplish objectives and results.
  • Ability to influence others and build a consensus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work methodically and accurately.
  • Fluency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
