Primary Function :

The Digital Marketing Specialist is a key contributor to the Global Export group.  The specialist will be responsible for developing highly effective marketing programs that drive top of the funnel growth and nurture prospects.


You will work closely with marketing leader and regional sales teams to deliver creative marketing campaigns that drive business growth, and increase market share of Grainger in the global marketplaces.


Candidates must be able to work independently or as part of a team, handle many tasks and priorities, as well as possess strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.


Individual must be internet savvy, must have excellent computer proficiency and attention to detail. The position is highly collaborative and you must be able to learn fast.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


·         Develop, deploy, and analyze demand generation campaigns in a variety of inbound and outbound marketing channels including online marketplaces, digital advertising, search engine marketing, email marketing, social media, etc.

·         Strategize with internal stakeholders on marketing and campaign plans against measurable goals and objectives.

·         Plan, create, and execute marketing project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs, requirements and budgets.

·         Work collaboratively to create appealing email campaigns, communicating winning marketing concepts through well-written copy, design and metrics.

·         Monitor online campaigns and collect metrics to calculate ROI and suggest continuous improvement.

·         Maintain knowledge of current trends and online marketing strategies as they evolve and apply to maintain relevancy and best practices approach.

·         Manage day-to-day operational aspects of online campaign tactics and scope.

·         Develop and manage processes for content management, time zone, language and cultural specifications for a global audience.

·         Review deliverables and ensures deliverable quality.

·         Minimizes exposure and risk for programs and campaigns; resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Work with marketing and sales leaders to optimize processes from initial inquiry to closed opportunity


Preferred Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3-5 years of contemporary marketing demand generation, marketing campaign development experience -- with strong online marketing experience.


  • Knowledge of best practices in B2B demands generation, marketing automation, lead conversion and nurturing programs.


  • Strong experience with marketing automation and CRM systems. Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite and HTML preferred.


  • Experience buying CPM, CPC, and CPA online media desirable.


  • Solid understanding of web analytics, ad tracking, a/b testing, tag management and content management.


  • Research best practices, report on competitive activities and deliver strategic recommendations for the future.  Evaluate emerging web capabilities and determine their role in marketing initiatives.


  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing marketing campaigns cost effectively with clear ROI focused metrics. Experience with executing target audience segmentation strategies preferred.


  • Experience operating in a shared services model with proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.


  • Demonstrated experience driving innovation, training and continuous operational and execution improvement.
