Database Engineers ensure that the IT infrastructure is sufficiently robust, scalable, and efficient to deliver the integrated services underlying the physical environment that supports the processes, physical resources, and operators required for developing, integrating, operating and sustaining IT applications and support services. 

They build, test, implement, configure, tune and support the IT infrastructure in the cloud and on-premise, to include the database platforms, storage systems, middleware infrastructure, network and client technologies. 

They work collaboratively with Architects and Analysts to develop the physical design and build solutions that meet the defined functional, quality, performance, security and architectural standards. They pursue the physical design, implementation and support of major automation solutions in a multiplatform environment, make recommendations for improvements to the usability of automated tools, and identify opportunities for increased adoption of orchestration technologies.

They Work with Technical Support Specialists to advise on and address escalated level 2 and 3 support issues.

They guide and advise Technical Administrators on maintenance, configuration changes, continuous improvements, and deployment. They are responsible for confirming compliance with security, performance and related standards; providing level 2 and 3 technical support, and delivering recommendations to improve systems.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:  

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or similar subject or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years solid RDMS database experience in Oracle/SQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS Aurora
  • MySQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong grasp of automation tools and DevOps concepts
