Position Details:
As a Platform Engineering Manager, you will lead the delivery effort for a team of engineers providing related products and services that enable the application engineering teams who are your customers to leverage and encapsulate the diverse complexity of our on-prem and cloud-hosted platforms, increasing their ability to better serve Grainger and our customers.
You Will:
- Manage one or more teams of 4-10 engineers developing and supporting platform tools and services.
- Develop engineers through coaching, mentoring and technical leadership.
- Provide and coordinate both product management and technical design activities for your team(s).
- Develop and support a team culture of collaboration, incremental improvement and sustainable pace
You Have:
- 8+ years of programming experience with at least 2 years managing engineers.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, Engineering, related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
- Deep passion for creating environments where people find joy in doing their best work.
- Hands-on understanding of modern software technologies including AWS, containers, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Understanding of Agile principles and how to create and adapt processes to the needs of your delivery context.
