Primary Function:


The Digital Customer Portfolio Analyst – Global Export will lead an enterprise-wide system that facilitates the formation of large, complex customer offers to ensure a positive business and financial impact on the Global Export Digital business unit. The primary function of this role will be the segmentation and categorization of all Global Export customers using various internal and external data points such as customer-purchase patterns, market changes, geographical impacts, etc. They will create a comprehensive strategic plan for the digital portfolio as a priority. Must partner closely with Global Export Sales and Cross-Functional Senior Leaders to effectively complete work.



Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Works with finance, sales and sales support leaders to drive pricing strategy and execution within large customer contract process, effectively balancing trade-offs between revenue growth, profitability and risk
  • Segmentation and categorization of Global Export customers using various data sources
  • Partners with enterprise-wide, cross-functional leaders to execute against improvements required to better serve Global Export segments (e.g., manufacturing, government, healthcare, hospitality, commercial)
  • Publishes monthly financial and operational reports to assess performance versus expectations on the success of strategies and provides counsel to Sales Leaders on improved coverage and offer development
  • Facilitates ongoing improvements to enable more robust planning, increased contract realization and account profitability
  • Leads medium-scale, complex projects involving matrix partners from definition, planning, executing, and delivering given strategic initiatives and quantifiable business impacts
  • Evaluates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other investment related solution expenditures


Preferred Education & Experience:


  • BA/BS Required – MBA preferred
  • Strong planning, organizational and leadership skills
  • Strategic thinker with business and financial acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at senior leadership levels
  • Proven track record of the application of continuous improvement methodologies driving quantifiable results
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage for top and bottom line results – commercial exposure and strategic and segmentation experience required
  • Strong knowledge of sales strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrated and applied experience to manage and deliver against large-scale, cross functional projects
  • Proven ability to mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively and lead the work of others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as evidenced by success in persuading and influencing others without formal authority
  • Strong knowledge of the Grainger business and customer.
