In this full time Crew Leader - Shipping role, you are responsible for safe and accurate shipping activities within the Regional Distribution Center.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Schedule workload assignments and control workflow within checking, shipment packing, restock, and product transfers to the other Regional Distribution Centers. Redirect personnel to most efficiently accomplish the daily service objectives and reassign workforce accordingly.

 

  • Train department personnel. Provide assertive, timely communication to team members and leadership regarding safety, teamwork and quality. Coach, mentor, and develop team members to meet personal and company objectives.

 

  • Interface with carrier personnel. Serve as subject matter expert in carrier Bill of Lading and manifest requirements, carrier routing requirements, parcel manifesting system, and specific customer requested packaging requirements.

 

  • Maintain records including labor records, inventory transactions, and personnel time records as required by the Supervisor. Responsible for company asset control involving inventory accuracy and capital equipment.

 

  • Communicate with Inventory Control Administrator regarding inventory discrepancies. Ensure packing and checking accuracy is maintained before products are shipped to our customers. Research shipment errors.

 

  • Assist in development and direction of Continuous Improvement Projects. 

 

  • Observe safety regulations and promote safe work habits. Maintain good housekeeping. Open and close the facility as directed by the Supervisor.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Two years of general warehouse/distribution knowledge.
  • General knowledge of distribution/ manufacturing operations.
  • Average math skills and effective reading & writing skills.
  • Problem solving ability and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to spend much of the time standing and walking in a warehouse environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
