*This will require two weeks of overnight Monday - Friday travel in February 2018 to our North Carolina Distribution Center for training*

 

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for inventory and material movement within the department, providing technical coordination and back-up departmental leadership in the absence of the Shipping Crew Leader. Duties include:

 

  • Coordinate picking, checking, packing and shipping functions. Assist with setting pick priorities and rush orders.
  • Work with carrier personnel on shipment documentation and pick up requirements using carrier bill of lading and manifest requirements.
  • Train new personnel on Shipping lines and systems, including SOP’s and use of powered industrial equipment. Assist Crew Leader in monitoring the proficiency of each team member within the Shipping department. Provide coverage as directed by Crew Leader.
  • Coordinate Shipping supply stocks and reorder inventories with the Purchasing Department. Responsible for company asset control involving materials movement and materials handling equipment.

 

Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent, valid state driver’s license and one year of general warehouse/distribution knowledge.
  • Three years of progressive manufacturing or warehousing experience and proficiency with powered material handling equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and influence without authority, as well as a high degree of mathematical skills, effective reading and writing skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and operate heavy industrial equipment up to a height of 30 feet above floor level.
