The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the overall DC operation and implementation management of company policies and procedures within the Regional Distribution Center. Provides direct supervision of three to eight leadership positions within various operational areas of the DC and management of the Capital plan and budget, and achievement of order shipment metrics. Work cross-functionally with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and Human Resources to achieve sales, operational, safety and continuous improvement goals.

Specifically, you will oversee operational activities of the Regional Distribution Center including budget up to $ 5 Million, capital plan achievement up to $ 3 Million and order shipment goals up to $ 75 Million annually.

 

Provide leadership and employee motivation for successful DC operation and completion of CI goals. Communicate effectively with supervisors and associates and create an open communication style that fosters a collaborative work environment.

 

Responsible for successful recruitment, training, and development of all department associates. Provides short term coverage planning for staffing requirements, and long-term staffing reviews and recommendations based on supporting analytics.

 

Develop and coach leaders utilizing a variety of Human Resources technologies and tools. Exercise authority for staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, disciplinary notices, and terminations.

 

Recommend Capital investments involving warehouse space requirements, industrial lift equipment and material handling needs with budgetary authority of up to $3 Million.

 

Process and report company records including labor, payroll, quality, and inventory. Ensures daily electronic confirmation of all orders shipped each day. Make all necessary corrections prior to daily transmission.

 

Demonstrate an understanding of Lean principles and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and events. Engage and educate direct reports in CI through coaching, training, and reinforcing progress. Achieve up to $200k in annual CI savings.

 

Incorporate strong safety focus into daily activities including safety training, establishing, and reinforcing safe practices and documents. Enforce OSHA standards and addresses unsafe conditions immediately. Schedule preventative maintenance of all distribution equipment and handles any necessary repairs as required.

 

Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent leadership experience and 5 – 7 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center leadership experience.
