The Product Support Specialist will

 

  • Provide day-to-day technical support of our product line. Consult with internal and external customers regarding product application and/or product performance specifications and expectations.  Utilize successful problem solving skills to handle difficult or unexpected situations.

 

  • Provide product identification, cross-reference support, and product consolidation recommendations. Suggest related products to help support overall company sales goals.

 

  • Track, prioritize and follow up on projects in a timely manner to meet team and company needs and deadlines.

 

  • Gather information from the web, Suppliers, Grainger and industry practices through different search mechanisms, regarding product application and opportunities.

 

  • Act as a technical liaison between Sales, Grainger, Supplier, Marketing, Product Management, Purchasing and/or Distribution with respect to product quality issues and new product requests. As needed, participate in product validation process.

 

  • Identify product opportunities, including matching products to markets and developing and conducting product training for Sales teams.

 

  • Lead warranty and defective returns for MRO products.  Develop and implement processes for warranty and defective products.  Resolve MRO Voice of Customers (VOC).

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience and 3-5 years’ experience in industrial distribution or as an automotive/fleet technician, parts manager, service manager, or equivalent experience and wide range of product knowledge.
  • Demonstrated technical competency in product knowledge and product application in the automotive/fleet industry or MRO marketplace.
  • Ability to use PC, product search on web, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills & exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, handle multiple priorities and present training material.
