Under limited supervision, the Sales Operations Specialist coordinates the internal activities related to the implementation of complex new business and existing customer opportunities. This individual will work cross functionally to resolve complex and/or unusual customer concerns, develop new processes as required and acts as a point of reference for contract negotiations, RFP preparation, new shop set-up coordination, customer departmental transition, and post analysis customer debriefs.



The Sales Operations Specialist will: 


  • Work in close partnership with sales to understand and recommend the needs and necessary resources required of customer opportunities.
  • Help coordinate the successful implementation of programs and identify future sales opportunities as directed by sales.  
  • Complete Statement of Work (SOW) on all critical customer projects including Requests for Proposals, responses to competitive threats and/or onboarding of new customers or programs as directed by sales. SOW may include outline of timeline, responsibilities, deliverables and resources required. Collaborate cross-departmentally, manage expectations, communicate changes and hold others accountable to achieve results. 
  • Recommend new processes as required for successful project or customer implementation. Present updates, results and recommendations for improvement to sales team and functional lead. Help streamline existing processes for enhanced communication, tracking, and cost control.       
  • Initiate dialog with sales to discuss complex and/or unusual circumstances outlined in site visit or key meeting notes. Take an active role in identifying potential red flags and recommend an action plan to mitigate risk.   
  • Coordinate the implementation of procurement platforms for new and existing customers as directed by sales. Lead and execute the timeline and communication between customer, sales and IT resources. Resolve platform related issues.
  • Analyze return on investment for deployed resources and/or deviations used to support critical projects. Help manage all documentation and communication relating to service, sales, participation and revenue development. Present reporting to sales accordingly.
  • Analyze market/product segments for additional opportunity through data and analytics. Utilize this information to drive the conversation with sales to help generate additional revenue opportunities.
  • Work with legal to ensure all documentation is collected and filed, as required by Grainger, and in the best interest of Imperial Supplies.




  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience and 3-5 years' experience in customer service, marketing, sales or related business field.
  • Effective communication, analytical, leadership & decision making skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills including ability to scrub, sort, and manipulate large amounts of data and use V-LookUps and formulas.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities; detail and results oriented.
