Due to aggressive growth initiatives, we are adding a Purchasing Supervisor role. In this role, you will lead a group of 2-3 Buyers and support company financial objectives and customer fill rates while controlling or reducing product costs. Purchasing spend is expected to increase by 30% over the next 5 years due to strategic growth plans.  

 

Scope of responsibility will include

  • Achievement of annual inventory turns and fill rate objectives.
  • Coach, supervise, and direct multiple Buyers’ performance regarding supplier negotiations, service level terms and conditions, and ongoing team member development.
  • Continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions. 
  • Cross-functional partnership with Product Management, Quality Assurance, marketing and Sales on quality specifications, promotions, new product introductions, and required inventory to support initiatives.
  • Development of competitive secondary and third-tiered sources, including global sources, for all major product lines. Identification of manufacturers as primary suppliers of Imperial branded products.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Operations Management or equivalent experience; and 3 years of product or services purchasing experience and operational supervisory or mentoring work experience.
  • Master's Degree in Business or Operations management and 5+ years of Supply Chain experience including direct supervision preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to utilize personal or network computer purchasing systems and Excel / Office writing software programs, proven negotiation and networking skills required.
  • Ability to establish departmental priorities and deadlines to achieve multiple goals is essential to success in this role.
