The Product Management Project Manager will be responsible for managing and directing cross functional projects and analyzing data to identify trends and provide direction.  Areas of support include Product Management, Purchasing, Quality, Pricing, Distribution, Marketing and Sales. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Complete Statement of Work (SOW) on all critical projects. A Statement of Work (SOW) will include outline of timeline, responsibilities, resources, cost controls, risk management and deliverables.   Measure of ROI will be required for most projects.

 

  • Manage the implementation of several complex projects concurrently.  Maintain high level of leadership, communicating across wide range of customers leading to high customer satisfaction expectations. Understand change in direction, schedule impacts, managing expectations, priorities and scheduled timelines.

 

  • Perform data analytics that align with Product Line Expansion and Merchandising Strategy including Market, Truck Type, Competitor, Product Line/Customer Gap Analysis, Supplier Analysis and MRO Products.  Apply analytics to identify trends and other behavioral opportunities leading to improved sales, margin or cost improvements.

 

  • Work cross functionally with business partners in all departments including sales, pricing, supply chain, marketing and IT.  Leverage Grainger Partners, Suppliers, and external third party resources to manage complex projects in solving business problems. Check and adjust progress with Team Leaders, Executive Sponsors and Stakeholders to ensure maximum performance and optimal results.

 

  • Challenge the existing processes and procedures, and takes steps to improve processes, service and cost through continuous improvement. Ensure change management is implemented and communicated clearly.   Demonstrate a sense of developing, driving change and taking initiative as appropriate to job responsibilities.

 

  • Present updates, results and implementation schedules to Senior Leadership.   Identify resources and dependencies (existing or new) required meeting the project KPIs or direction.     

 

  • Socialize Project or Initiative with Product Training, Sales Training and Marketing teams with appropriate expertise, data, supplier support and project awareness promoting a systematic process approach.

 

Qualifications

                                                                                                          

  • Bachelor’s in Business or Marketing, Project Management, Data Science or industrial product management / development or equivalent work experience and 2-4 years of Project Management, Product Management, Marketing, Business Analytics or related industrial product application experience.

 

  • Bachelor's Degree, PMP and 4-6 years relevant experience preferred. Hands on experience with Gant Charts, Project Management or Analytics Software options also a plus.

 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Ability to handle multiple priorities and frequent reprioritization of priorities.

 

  • Strong organization and project management skills with attention to detail and follow through on all assignments.

 

  • Excellent PC knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.  Familiarity with Analytics tools.  Google or Adobe Analytics Dashboards a plus.
