We are adding an Onsite Search Manager role to our growing eCommerce team! This individual will be responsible for managing the onsite search growth and strategy. They will oversee multi-channel (desktop, mobile, print) search and related optimization efforts and be accountable for all onsite search-related metrics and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding onsite search performance metrics and KPIs such as search-to-cart percentage, null percentage, search-related customer satisfaction, and other search-related metrics. Responsible for the collection, analysis, and communication of all metrics and KPIs.


  • Optimize onsite search and on-page content to maximum relevance and search results including identifying popular terms and relevant search results, creating and maintaining naming and linking conventions, managing site redirects, monitoring and evaluating performance across search channels and executing link build strategies.


  • Work closely with the eCommerce, Marketing, Product Management and IT teams in the prioritization of all search enhancements and initiatives. Ensure that the search requirements for delivering a continually improving product search experience are appropriately prioritized, sequenced, staffed, and executed.


  • Recognize work practices/requirements in website content, including product descriptions and product/service support documentation. Identify important keywords and phrases for a wide range of content, including ecommerce and lead generation. 


  • Make personnel decisions related to the strategic growth of the department; lead cross-functional teams in project execution to reach short term and long term goals.  


  • Implement new website search/navigation solutions and make strategic decisions that impact the overall features, functionality and performance of onsite search.


  • Responsible for prioritizing and standardizing all search optimization efforts, including the review and classification of top searches, null searches, and search feedback. Make decisions on search criteria and data which impact onsite search relevancy.



Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience and 5 years ecommerce experience managing onsite search and enterprise search engines. Experience in organizations with complex business processes/systems preferred. 
  • Mastery-level experience managing enterprise search engines; Solr and/or Endeca experience preferred
  • Significant experience with Product Information Management systems and methodologies
  • Management experience in an Agile software development environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in analysis, including web analytics
  • Outstanding communication skills including the ability to translate detailed technical information to easily understood concepts, decisions, and actions
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and ensure alignment with cross functional stakeholders
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing methodology and managing relationships with third-party vendors/external partners
