We are searching for an Inventory Specialist to join our team!
Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist supports inventory performance, product availability, and service level objectives through inventory analysis, inventory positioning, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain inventory accuracy, improve operational efficiency, and enhance overall supply chain performance. The Inventory Specialist also identifies opportunities to improve processes, inventory management practices, and team effectiveness across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
- Support leadership in achieving and exceeding key inventory performance metrics, including inventory dollars, unit fill rate, inventory turns, and excess and obsolete inventory targets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the organization’s third-party procurement platform provider by proactively communicating inventory strategies, team objectives, and business updates to maintain high customer service levels.
- Assist in maintaining and improving purchasing logic, including:
- Safety stock adjustments
- Order cycle frequency determination
- Supplier lead time updates
- Distribution Center bin location setup and optimization
- Identify and analyze slow-moving and overstocked inventory and develop disposition strategies to reduce inventory liability. Partner with internal stakeholders to execute plans that minimize excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
- Manage daily product transfers between Distribution Center facilities to balance inventory levels, improve regional fill rates, and support same-day shipping objectives.
- Conduct gap analyses to identify operational inefficiencies and root causes within inventory and supply chain processes. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance execution and operational performance.
- Maintain and refine process documentation to support consistency, training, and knowledge transfer across the team.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide backup support for the Inventory Asset Manager and Purchasing Team as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory management, operations, or business analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of inventory operations experience with an emphasis in analytics and/or demand planning
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Power BI experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain operations
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities in a fast-paced environment
