As an Employee Relations Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a seamless employee experience, guiding leaders through critical employee relations matters, and ensuring our policies are adhered to with integrity and consistency.

Position Overview

In this strategic advisory role, you’ll provide high-level consulting, policy interpretation, and best practices on employee relations issues. You’ll be the go-to expert for managers and team members, offering coaching and support to resolve employee concerns while ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Your leadership will help to enhance the employee experience, reduce risk, and continuously improve HR processes across the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess & Investigate: Conduct assessments, audits, investigations, and manage employee relations cases with precision and accuracy.
  • Consult & Coach: Guide leaders on effective problem resolution, helping them understand best practices in handling performance, conduct, and compliance issues.
  • Develop Improvement Plans: Assist managers with performance improvement plans and help drive regular, meaningful feedback conversations that empower teams.
  • Partner with Legal: Work closely with the Grainger employment legal team to ensure all practices meet state and federal regulatory standards.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with HR leadership to standardize processes and continuously refine the employee relations approach for optimal effectiveness and risk mitigation.

 

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Required: 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations.
  • Expertise in consulting and providing recommendations to corporate and field leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • High ethical standards, with a focus on doing what’s right for both the business and team members.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.
