Duties and responsibilities
-Actively curate and supplement customer information for all of Grainger, primarily through online research, with an emphasis on identifying qualified prospects and accurately segmenting Grainger’s current customers
-Contribute to development and continuous improvement of standard research processes
-Execute processes that create customer information, e.g. conducting online research on customers to confirm which industry a location is in
-Contribute to quantitative analysis – with support, write SQL and conduct exploratory data analysis
-Present and defend work with peers
-Develop a deep understanding of the US MRO market – what customers exist in which industries, and how attractive are they to Grainger?
Skills
-Intense curiosity about Grainger’s customers and business – the MRO market must be a genuine source of intellectual stimulation for a candidate to thrive in the role
-Statistics, basic data visualization and analysis skills: Excel/Tableau ok, SQL and R/Python strongly preferred
-Desire to develop technical and quantitative skills
-Clear written and visual communication
-Thorough, thoughtful online research
Background
0-3 years post-undergraduate experience
Bachelor’ degree in STEM preferred
