Compensation:
The base salary for this role ranges between $ 80,080 - $ 110,110 with eligibility for an incentive target of 10% which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives.

This person will be responsible for development of contract and/or non-contract pricing program strategies. This role will support the execution and analysis of Grainger Canada's pricing strategies and tactics. Working under the Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy, this role conducts detailed pricing and financial analysis and will work closely with various cross-functional groups to grow overall company profitability. The role will drive the execution of pricing and discounting strategies, including implementation of pricing decisions. The incumbent has a deep understanding of competitive dynamics and business economics, and knows how to bring pricing to life across multiple channels. The role partners with business leaders to establish and drive pricing vision, strategy and plans to optimize revenue, market share, brand positioning and long-term profits by category/services and customer type.
Job Responsibilities (You Will):
- Create contract and/or non-contract pricing strategy to grow customer base, revenue and profitability targets by analyzing customer-based data, financial data, demand trends and industry dynamics.
- Recommend responses to competitors’ pricing strategies based on thoughtful assessments of impacts to the business.
- Manage the development of robust commercial pricing models for contracts and non-contract pricing programs; clearly present inputs and outputs from the models to senior leaders and other stakeholders to drive decision-making. Inputs include volume discounts, margins and other factors.
- Analyze customer-based data, financial data, demand trends and industry dynamics to identify and action new pricing initiatives.
- Develop quantitative, actionable insights that drive decision-making through the application of statistical and/or advanced data analytics techniques.
- Develop new pricing models to analyze potential financial impact and generate new ideas.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of new price points used for quoting (QRP).
- Develop financial forecast modeling to understand the impact of different pricing initiatives.
- Develop post-analysis and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain and enhance pricing processes.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Pricing.
- Analytically support special pricing and business programs as needed.
Education/Experience (You Have):
- Proficiency with SQL Server and/or Snowflake is a must.
- Experience with statistical software, such as R, Python and PowerBI, is desirable.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of business strategies including customer requirements, Supply Chain strategies, product information strategies and Customer Service.
- Good financial and analytical skills that can be applied in a decision-making and problem-solving environment.
- Experience organizing and analyzing large complex datasets.
- Self-motivated with proven ability to establish and sustain strong internal customer relationships and external customer knowledge, and effectively balance customer needs with those of the business.
- Ability to manage change and influence others to reach stated objectives.
- Excellent communication and business writing skills. Ability to determine the appropriate amount of detail gained in research to present findings accurately, methodically and concisely.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, organized and efficient at time management and working in a team setting.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- A self-starter who takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required.
