Position Details:

This position is responsible for the leadership of 8-10 National Account Managers who will retain and grow the National Account customers assigned to the region. The director must have a clear understanding of the MRO potential of the portfolio and of each customer along with the key competitive insights required to develop a clear strategic vision and tactics for Grainger to win market share. The position synthesizes all customer knowledge and develops overall short-term and long-term portfolio/customer growth strategies.

 

You will also be accountable for driving speed to revenue, offer productivity improvements and provide operations support as needed to field leadership. Overall portfolio stewardship and keen operating expense management will ensure you exceed the growth and profit goals.

Position requires strong cross functional collaborative skill set, ability to influence strategic direction and lead successful execution of multiple work streams including key customer negotiations.

 

You will report to RSVP National Accounts. This is a remote role with travel within Canada and United States. There are 2 positions available. 

 

This position is salaried and will pay between $150K -$200K including commission at target; commission plan is uncapped. Factors involved in determining the salary include, but are not limited to: a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and geographical area.

 

You will :

 

  • Overall responsibility and ownership for financial performance of all National Accounts in designated customer portfolio: sales/revenue, expenses and operating earnings.
  • Responsible for customer experience, operating budgets, territory analysis, reporting/key performance measurements and contract performance of each National Account.
  • Talent Management: Lead team of 8-10 National Account Managers, including recruitment, training, coaching, development and performance.
  • Customer Experience: Support National Account Managers’ efforts to clearly understand customer needs, design proposed services and solutions models and to lead cross functional execution.
  • Cross functional Collaboration: Maintain strong and effective working partnerships across Grainger departmental matrix.
  • Stewardship: Work closely with all business partners to maximize profitable growth relative to customer portfolio while mitigating risk to Grainger business.
  • Must have good prioritization skills to focus on highest priority short and long term growth opportunities.
  • Canada and North America-wide travel required.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Buisness Amministration or related discipline combined with relevant management experience or equivalent experience. MBA preferred. 
  • 10 years experience in Sales and People management
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical, financial/budget issues and utilize information to affect plans, actions, profitability and costs.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement practices, demonstrated negotiation .
  • High degree of organization, planning, and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Proven presentation and written communication skills.
