Position Summary: 

As a Keepstock Inventory Specialist you will work to deliver an excellent customer experience as a dedicated resource to our customer, managing inventory at their locations .  Duties may include managing Grainger and non-Grainger inventory within a customer tool crib or campus, product management, participating in business reviews, navigating complex and robust computer programs, managing supplier relationships, and procurement responsibilities.

 

Job Responsibilities (You Will): 

Facilitate an excellent customer experience by resolving problems promptly and accurately in a manner that will retain and promote customer loyalty. Effectively collaborate with internal and external partners. Apply continuous improvement methodologies, lean & 5S philosophy to all aspect of principal duties. Comply with all safety and inspection requirements of Grainger and the facility where the service is being provided.

 

Product Management

Helps to ensure our customers have the products they need, when they need them. Including tasks like forecasting, product identification, cross referencing, product research, product issuance, and product optimization.

 

Order and Requisition Management

Ensuring orders are placed timely and accurately including, quoting, order generation, receipt, put away, audit, records management, returns, and analysis

 

Managing Supplier Relationships

Develop effective relationships with suppliers including consignment set up, payment terms, repair and replacement processes, trouble shooting, supplier business reviews, and contracted discounts.

 

Systems, resources and processes

Effectively utilizing the customers, Grainger’s or other suppliers inventory management systems to produce inventory, product and material analysis and reporting. Support and guide customers to internal and external resources such as technical support, credit, repair, sourcing or sales as necessary

Reports directly to Supervisor, Onsite Services

 

Education/Experience (You Have): 

  • College Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to provide superior customer service
  • Effective communication, comfortable interacting with customers, internal and external partners and suppliers in a professional manner
  • Must be comfortable navigating complex and robust computer systems and technology and able to learn and adopt required software, apps, smartphones, scanners and programs efficiently.
  • Able to operate powered industrial equipment as needed.
  • Must be self-directed and able to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Background checks, drug screening may be required (as warranted by Company, customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and/or operating equipment)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in province of residence.

Other Work Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 to 60 lbs. and/or occasionally work in difficult positions.
  • Will work at customers’ facilities. This is typically a manufacturing plant type of facility. Conditions can be noisy, and space can be limited
  • Physical requirements include moving from one place to another, reaching, lifting, climbing, standing and bending
