Position Summary:
The Bilingual Field Safety Specialist provides Safety & Health expertise to Grainger Customers and Sellers, partnering with District Sales Managers in their defined regions to ensure they are aligned to the right safety and health opportunities. The Bilingual Field Safety Specialist also provides training t in their aligned region on Health and Safety offers, resources, and insights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct customer needs analysis to determine and understand the customer’s health and safety concerns and align to Grainger Safety & Health solutions. This involves leading customer discussions, identifying customer needs, and determining readiness, focusing on customers who are ready and open to change.
- Provide tailored solutions that reduce costs or increase efficiency with innovative product or service applications. This involves working with external and internal stakeholders, linking solution features to a customer’s desired outcome, performing cost-savings analyses, and having value-based conversations. Seek feedback throughout the process to refine solutions and ensure customer needs are met.
- Implement solutions by working with internal and external resources to execute implementation plans. Monitor implementation to ensure business needs are being met and identify potential future opportunities with the customer.
- Guide Grainger Sellers on strategy, coaching, and direction on health and safety opportunities. Educate sellers on key safety offerings and messaging.
- Maintain expertise through appropriate safety credentials focused on health and safety regulations and industry topics to better educate customers. Expand customer understanding and use of Grainger’s standard product and service capabilities.
Education/Experience:
- Strong business & safety acumen with the ability to understand financial reporting, to analyze safety business needs, and document safety and health value to customers.
- 2+ years’ experience in an environment involving safety hazard analysis and assessments.
- Bilingual (English and French) required as this role supports and interacts with team members and customers from all Canadian provinces.
- Ability to project manage and drive for results.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections and analyses to prevent injuries / accident prevention and reduction, engineering controls, ergonomics, and hazmat control to meet compliance standards.
- Understanding of safety regulations, safety applications, safety violations, safety drivers, safety programs, building a safety culture.
- Ability to learn and understand the Grainger Selling Process to effectively team and solution sell with Grainger sellers.
- Ability to build strong networks and to work cross-functionally.
- Skilled in the application and use of computer and communications technology.
- Possession of a valid license and a reliable vehicle.
- Frequent travel within and outside of Quebec is required for this role (up to 50%).
This role may require you to attend our customers’ sites and to adhere to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, as it relates to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on certain customer sites. This may include: a hard hat; steel-toed safety boots, clean shaven or trimmed moustache/beard in order to wear a close-fitted N95 mask or other required PPE. Details of these requirements will be provided during the recruitment process.
