Position Details

The Manager, Canada Product Compliance Policy supports the development and implementation of product compliance policies aligned with Canadian regulations and business needs. Reporting to the Global Product Compliance Policy leader, this role helps interpret evolving legislation and supports compliance initiatives across Grainger’s Canadian business.

 

This role collaborates closely with the Grainger Canada business, and cross-functionally across all of Grainger to ensure product compliance requirements are effectively understood, communicated, and operationalized within the Canadian market. The Manager will support the rollout of new or updated compliance policies, help maintain clear procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of policy implementation.

 

You Will

Regulatory & Policy Support

  • Monitor and interpret Canadian product compliance regulations and legislation, helping assess impacts on Grainger’s operations in Canada.
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining product compliance policies that align with Canadian requirements and business priorities.
  • Support risk identification efforts and provide compliance input to help mitigate regulatory exposure within the Canadian business.

Operational Execution

  • Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures to implement compliance policies across Canadian operations.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Sales, and other internal teams to ensure consistent understanding and execution of compliance requirements
  • Assist in tracking policy adoption and effectiveness, supporting training, documentation, and compliance reporting.

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that embed compliance practices into business operations in Canada.
  • Work with senior Grainger Canada leadership team to communicate policy identification and interpretation
  • Partner with Compliance Operations and other internal teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding Canadian compliance policies and procedures.

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Law, Regulatory Affairs, Public Policy, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in product compliance, corporate safety, public policy or relevant product or process regulatory experience. Experience in MRO/industrial distribution or manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to apply regulatory understanding to diverse product portfolios and business models.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on risk management and practical compliance solutions.
  • Strong writing skills with ability to author and edit Policy papers
